Gameday

Hello, everyone. Greetings from Martin Stadium in Pullman. It looks like the Bears are in for some good weather this afternoon. I personally don’t ever remember it being this sunny and warm here. Of course, that probably has something to do with the fact that this is my first time coming here for football. I’ve only been here before during basketball season, and the winter weather evidently is substantially different than the end of summer.

Many of the Bears are out on the field warming up, stretching and throwing footballs around. This is Washington State’s first home game of the season, and this facility is in the middle of a major renovation project. One of the notable new toys here is a new big video board. It looks like it’s close to half the width of the bleachers behind one of the end zones.

Here are a few links to get the show on the road:

–In today’s paper, we looked at how Cal’s experience defending the spread offense last season could help today.

–I’m sure I don’t have to tell any of you that trees have begun to fall outside Memorial Stadium as the SAHPC project is underway. Here’s the latest.

–It’s been brought up before this week, but the Cougars are banged up going into today’s game.

–The Cougars believe they’ll represent themselves better today than they did last week in their opener against Oklahoma St.

I’ll be back a  little later with updates as we get closer to kickoff, which is a little over an hour-and-a-half away right now.
