About to head off to Cal’s weekly press luncheon, but first some primers to start getting ready for Saturday’s game:
–Colorado St. is happy with the performance of new QB Billy Farris.
–The Rams have tempered enthusiasm over their 2-1 start.
–CSU is moving an athletic backup quarterback to wide receiver, and he may get time against Cal.

CSU has developed an aggressive passing game.
Cal had to hang on for a win last year
Is Cal a better team this year?
Is CSU a worse team than last year?

Plus their TE was having an AA type year and who went out for the season in last year’s game is back.

I see an interesting game happening in Sourberry Canyon on Saturday. CSU is not the kind of team to be taken for granted. They are better than they were last year when they almost took UCB down. As long as they pass at least 40 times this game going to their WR Morton and using their TE Sperry often they will stay in this game. UCB has not shown they can either defend the pass or stop 3rd and long. Take Colorado State and the 25 points. You won’t be sorry.

I finally got the chance to look at the Maryland tape since getting back from the East Coast and have noticed that Teofilo seems to get a lot of penalties called on him. Besides moving him to the other side, is there any other players that Tedford is looking at for that position, or is Teofilo going to stay a starter?

Also, is Tepper planning to be back soon, if so, would he be plugged in instead of Teofilo.

Big D, I think Teofilo will continue to start, but on the right tackle instead of left tackle. The only other player who I would think could get a look at tackle at this point is junior college transfer Donovan Edwards, who has been running as the second team left tackle so far. Tepper won’t be back for awhile. I’d say he’s out at least until after the second bye week.
