JO - Was that the proper call when the ref said that a Cal defender propelled himself off of a teamate to block the field goal try in the fourth quarter? I heard from a fan sitting next to me at the game, who was listening to Starkey on the radio, that there was never any contact between teamates in order to propel himself.

i saw the reply, tivo’d.
All he did was take 1.5 steps and jump.
The official rule is that you can’t run and jump. If you consider 1.5 steps and jumping as running, then it was a foul. However, it was no different than any other kick that I’ve ever seen.

Thanks for the photo slideshow! There are some great action photos icluded in the mix. Could you make it a regular feature? It would be a shame for so many great phots to go unseen and unappreciated.

Juice, the call was that the player landed on another player, something that is against the rules. Tedford actually said they called it on the wrong player, but didn’t seem to have a problem with the call itself.
