Basketball: Big 12/Pac-10 series gets going

Cal’s game Sunday at Missouri is part of the second annual Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series.

The Pac-10 already owns a 1-0 season lead, thanks to Stanford’s 76-62 home victory over Colorado last Saturday. Here’s the rest of the schedule (with current team win-loss records in parenthesis), most of which will be played this weekend:

Thursday, Dec. 4

UCLA (4-1) at Texas (5-1)

USC (5-2) at Oklahoma (6-0)

Oklahoma State (5-2) at Washington (3-3)

Friday, Dec. 5

Arizona (5-1) at Texas A&M (5-1)

Saturday, Dec. 6

Oregon State (1-4) at Iowa State (5-1)

Baylor (6-1) at Washington State (6-1)

Sunday, Dec. 7

Cal (6-1) at Missouri (6-1)

Nebraska (6-0) at Arizona State (5-1)

Kansas State (5-2) at Oregon (3-4)

Tuesday, Dec. 23

Kansas (6-1) at Arizona ( 5-1)

Sunday, Dec. 28

Texas Tech (7-1) at Stanford (4-0).

    I really like these series. I wish College football would do the same on one week in the middle of the season. It would take away from the mystery of how different conferences matchup. I wonder how these matchups are determined…
