Thank You for your observations. Your comments will not be popular around here as most posts seem to be
Riley-positive and seem to be in denial that both Longshore and Riley have not performed to an acceptable level. Neither QB stood up, took control and proved they are the QB, but, Longshore has received most of the bashing.
A few weeks ago I suggested Longshore and Mansion play some in the Washington game and was lambasted as being an idiot.
Tedford has been criticized about waiting until Sat to name the QB. Tedford must have wakened up on Saturdays with anxiety attacks knowing he had to select one of these 2 guys to start when neither one stood out.
I hope Riley is the guy for next year,but, he needs tremendous improvement. Lets hope this happens

Given his list, his decision to come to Cal is a whole lot less impressive. Where else was he gonna go? Oregon, maybe, but every other program he mentioned is in seriously bad shape.

Riley didn’t live up the hype that everyone wanted. I certainly wanted him to do well. At best he did okay. He didn’t turn over the ball but he also didn’t do much more. He consistently over-threw or missed wide open receivers, often in critical situations.

Longshore’s problem was he had the tendency to throw picks but when he was on, he hit his target.

Can anyone really say that Riley put a strangle hold on the starting QB spot in his last couple of games? Neither Longshore or Riley excelled; from that standpoint, I can see why Tedford wouldn’t be confident in definitively naming a starter at this point.

I can’t think of any reason to play Longshore in this game. I’d rather start Mansion.
