Here’s Sunday’s game story on Cal’s 98-62 win over Dartmouth in the opening round of the Golden Bear Classic.

Game summary

HEADLINER: Cal’s reserves accounted for 42 points and 22 rebounds in a combined 94 minutes on the floor, giving the starters plenty of time to rest.
MOMENT THAT MATTERED: The Bears led just 33-28 entering the final 4 minutes of the first half when a jumper by Patrick Christopher triggered a 13-2 run that pushed Cal into a 46-30 halftime lead.
MAGIC NUMBER: 52 _ Cal’s points in the paint.
NEXT UP: The Bears (10-2) take on Portland (7-5) in Sunday’s 5 p.m. Golden Bear Classic championship game.
