ESPN.com’s resident “bracketologist,” Joe Lunardi, projects Cal as a No. 5 seed this week, slated to face San Diego StateĀ at Portland in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Remember, these are PROJECTIONS, and they are about two months early.
UCLA is a No. 4, according to Lunardi, who knows his stuff. Arizona State is a No. 5, Washington a No. 10. He lists Stanford as his first team left out this week.
Here’s full bracket, as Lunardi sees it. Have fun.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Not the dreaded 5 seed!!!
When I saw that (and the formidable projected opponent), I had a bad, bad feeling.
Luckily, things will change significantly between now and the tournament, so it likely won’t come true. Remember, as rosy as things look right now, we still haven’t seen how these Bears will do in the long run. I’ll be happy if they just weather the storm and make it to the tournament, no matter what seed they get.

right now we’re an rpi 11. that should put us as a 3 seed, right? we just need to keep winning games, regardless. looking at texas and ok last night, those dudes are huge. we can’t compete with huge dudes unless we’re really sharp from 3 point land. hopefully we can keep that up. go bears.
