USC coach Tim Floyd said during the weekly Pac-10 coaches teleconference call that starting shooting guard and leading scorer Dwight Lewis remains uncertain to play this week after spraining his left ankle in practice a week ago.
Lewis sat out both games on the Trojans’ trip to Washington last weekend, and Floyd said, “It just hasn’t gotten better.”
Lewis did not practice Monday and was not scheduled to be on the floor Tuesday, Floyd said. Asked if Lewis could be ready for Stanford on Thursday or Cal on Saturday, Floyd said, “Don’t know . . . there’s no way he could have played (last) weekend.”
Also sidelined is freshman power forward Leonard Washington, who is struggling with a high-ankle sprain. Floyd said Washington also sat out Monday’s workouts and was not expected to practice Tuesday.
“Leonard Washington is just a shadow of who he was before the injury,” Floyd said.
