Cal football: Spring practice

By Jonathan Okanes

I can’t believe I’m even typing this, but spring practice is only six weeks away. Practice begins on March 10 and goes to April 18. There will be the usual break in between for spring break. The Bears will practice 14 times, including three scrimmages. Some of this could change, but that’s the plan as of now. No word yet if any of the practices or scrimmages will be open to the public.

Is Riley on his way out?

yeah why would they allow the community and fans to come out and be apart of what’s going on in the spring. my family down south brags about how all of SC’s & UCLA’s spring & fall practices are open and that coaches implore the people to come out and feel involved. at Cal all you get is the chance to pay high season-ticket prices with no parking and watch games in the dilapated museum that is Memorial. if SC can open their practices and allow their fans to come shouldn’t Tedford at least open just a couple of practices. every practice in the spring isn’t about game-planning but getting guys comfortable and back to practicing. shouldn’t SC have as much to lose as CAL by opening their practices? if their gameplans have remained safe with the throngs of people out there shouldn’t we be able to do the same here.

come on Tedford, don’t keep the people that pay your salary and care about what goes on out of the loop.
