Cal football: Hasiak looks solid

The L.A. Daily News USC blog is reporting that offensive lineman Stan Hasiak will not visit the Trojans this weekend, as had been previously speculated. Hasiak has an oral commitment to Cal but visited Washington last weekend and was expected in L.A. this weekend. Apparently, his visit to Washington was simply a courtesy and all signs are that he will sign his letter with Cal on Wednesday.

Scout.com has removed Stan Hasiak from the Cal
oral commitment list and now shows him as a prospect.

Cal Duke, Cal Sports Digest is less reliable than my deceased mother on Cal football news, since a scout moderator, Mr. C Fetters is a UDUB tool, and it has been severely behind the curve of BearInsider and BearTerritory on recent recruiting news with a new raw team.

My USC contact “RS” told me Adam Hall wanted badly to play for USC but we stopped recruiting him. There were many others better than him. “RS” says you won’t get him either.

Hall = Arizona
Told you

Anyone could have guessed Arizona. Moron, why won’t you tell me about your law school story? I’m curious what it takes to drop out…I’m a 2L at Boalt and I haven’t experienced any issues at all…what do I need to worry about?

Thanks FOR THE CLARIFICATION Jan
I’M GLAD TO HEAR HUSIAK IS A FIRM COMMITMENT.
HE WILL BE A BIG ADDITION.
BY THE WAY, RIVALS TOOK SEAN QUINN OFF THE CAL’S COMMITMENT LIST(SCOUT KEPT HIM ON THE LIST??). ANY BACKGROUND ON THAT?

Jan, I know it’s spelled Hasiak

Hey Duke, If you want to get reliable facts, go to BearInsider and use their search option. If MoragaBear supports the bold statements on there or there are several posters who confirm it, you can take it as the gospel truth. BearInsider has by far the most reliable forum and most chatter for free.
You can find info about Quinn on there, but I’ll save you the effort. The NCAA stupidly considers some intramural play in Texas by Quinn as equivalent to one year of eligibility. Thus, he has one year of eligibility left, and the coaching staff might not be willing to sacrifice a schollie if he doesn’t pan out. He could petition to the NCAA, but there’s no guarantee. Then, there’s the reality he would not be able to make spring practice, and he’d be far behind Holley and Tyndall in preparation for the upcoming season. The cards are stacked against him, if he doesn’t get the extra year back. Alright, I need to get up and walk around now, because “the system” has really pisses me off, again.

Jan, thanks for the link. Good ifo.
Scout.com thinks highly of Cal Bears

Jan,
Thanks for the info on Sean
What system “pisses me off’ again?
January 30th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
What system? Any system that fits the mold of a bureacracy which doesn’t help the individual American, but screws them from living the American dream.
On spelling, this is casual bantor, so you’ll never hear a complaint from me or any other sensible poster about grammar or spelling, but just the facts. On that note, why do you think scout.com like the Bears any more than the other sites, when Rivals.com rates Cal’s class higher by 2 spots and ESPN by 6 spots? Interestingly, the difference was a lot larger a few days ago.
Then, the state of California has the largest population of JUCO players (more than all other states combined), yet Scout.com only has one reporter covering them all? If Scout.com likes anything, it follows Amy’s infactuation with this site, and it is in the form of extreme bias to stars given to $C commits. How do they do it? Watch how the stars change, when someone commits to $C. They suddenly go from a 2-star or 3-star to a 4-star, which never happens for Cal commits. As a Bear fan, you’ve got to hate that.
Thanks for making my sick day entertaining. This stomach virus sucks…

Jan,
If you noticed any of my past comments they have alluded to the fact that the ‘oral commitment’ concept has been turned into a circus ‘with plenty of bozos’ in the mix. Carroll, Hall, Kennard and many, many others have played this to the max for dramatic attention. I think the media has created this frenzy and it sells.

Hey Duke, I just checked Cal Digest, and they changed Hasiak’s position to a soft verbal. Gotta to wonder if someone is trying to save face among the Cal faithful on that site. I guess they’ve never heard the old addeage, “once a good opinion is lost, it is lost forever”.
