Spring break is over, which means the break in spring practice is almost over as well. The Bears will be back at it tomorrow. They have 11 more practices. Included in those are three scrimmages, the first of which will be this Saturday. The last scrimmage, on April 18, is open to the public.

Any predictions as to whom will be the starting WRs (including a slot receiver in a 3-receiver set)?

Boatang, Ross, Tucker are my fearless predictions, while 2 Jones (Markish and Marvin) will challenge for playing time. The rest will battle for the scrapes. Of course, it is way too early as an injury could make this blind prediction a joke.

I know it’s spring ball and the fall JC guys haven’t come in yet, but any word on Jerome Meadows from SJCC at LB? Seems like he could be a monster…big (6’3″/240) and fast.

Calvin has been hurt but is a talented fast big WR. If he is healthy look out. Expect big things for the WR core/the entire offense this fall.

Marv Jones will break out. Rumor has it he even burned syd in practice. The guy has the body, speed and athletism to be a true threat

First somebody has got to get the ball to the WRs, then they have to catch it, and then we can talk about improvement. The Bears had a lot of trouble with steps 1 and 2 last year.

Hey, I’m perfectly fine with 7-10 wheel route TDs to RB Vereen. Who needs wide receivers anyway? =D

Eric, right now you’d have to go with the three guys returning — Nyan Boateng, Verran Tucker and Jeremy Ross. But I think Marvin Jones and Michael Calvin have a chance to knock someone off. Calvin, of course, has to get healthy. Jones is a talent but inexperienced. I think we’ll know more about Jones chances at the end of spring ball. He needs to make an impact to position himself by the time fall camp begins.
Milo, I would think Ryan Davis has a better chance than Meadows to make an immediate impact. There is speculation that Davis could be the type of rush linebacker Zack Follett was.
