Here are some quotes from my one-on-one conversation with Cameron Morrah yesterday, as well as his conference call with the local media:
On his inmmediate role with the Seahawks?: “They said they wanted me to get in there and compete for a spot. That’s what I’m going to do. I’m just going to go out there and compete to the best of my abilities.”
Disappointed in going in the seventh round?: “I’m not disappointed. Everything happens for a reason. Honestly, I felt like this was the best situation for me.”
On his decision to leave after his junior year: “I still believe I made the right decision. I’m just focusing on getting out to Seattle and competing. I did everything I had to do to put myself in the best position.”
On joining former Bears Brandon Mebane and Justin Forsett on the Seahawks: “It’s always good to go somewhere where you know a couple people. It makes the adjustment a little easier. I’m grateful for that.”
On his reaction as he slipped into the later rounds of the draft: “You have to prepare yourself for anything. You never know what’s going to happen on draft day. I was just thankful Seattle picked me up.”
