I would like to see a talented big like him at Cal too. However, he apparently just got his SAT passing score, which makes me think he’s a really marginal student. Players don’t have to qualify for Cal like students do, but there is still a base line of acceptability, academically. He may not make that. (See how Arizona lost Brandon Jennings last year as non-academic qualifier.) And Monty may not want to deal with someone at that level, after having had more intelligent Stanford kids for so long. Still, would be great to get a monster down low.

Regardless, I’m THRILLED he won’t be at USC! They were looking to be heavy duty trouble next year.

He really wanted to go to UCLA and even they turned him down for some reason…I agree with MtJim, there’s something about this kid that doesn’t feel right.

Ok, so I say this with all Cal bias: the Golden Bears would present a perfect opportunity for him, as they have a veteran and talented core at every position except where he would play…if he is only going to play one year, Cal represents a chance at maximum exposure, as his addition to the team would make them very highly ranked from Day 1 of the season

Andy Katz of ESPN reported that USC was no longer recruiting Sidney. Implied it was an administration decision, whatever that means. So I guess it means that Sidney is no longer waffling, he has been cut off. Rumor had him visiting Miss St. He’s originally from the state of Mississippi.
