The NCAA board of directors today approved legislation that will substantially reduce the period of time during which underclassmen can withdraw their names from the NBA draft. Players will have only until May 8 — currently the deadline is June 15 — to change their minds and return to college.
The change won’t go into effect until at least the 2010-11 season.
