Cal football: Another ranking

Athlon has been counting down its preseason top 25, and Cal came in today at No. 11. This is the highest preseason ranking I’ve seen yet for the Bears.

Oregon backup QB Roper to transfer

We have to win the 1st 4 games to earn that ranking. If we smack Maryland really hard (which I think will happen, with a score of 46 to 10) and if the guys stay healthy and mentally sharp, we will rank higher by the time USC comes around. The game with Oregon will be close, but our play makers, will stop the beavers again.
