I agree Golden. I have seen this kid play numerous times, what I have gathered apart from what the scouts have said (high B-ball IQ, strong, creative, true-point) is that his offense there at DLS put the kid in a box. He did a great job at running a very complex offense that some college coaches would have a hard time with, but it called on him to be a distributor. My feeling, is being around Randle will shake that off him.

I do however feel we need a strong center. I'm not worried about how many stars rivals or scout gives a kid, I trust Monty, and I want to see a BIG that Monty likes commit.

13th/final scholarship and the final piece to the puzzle. One thing that was lacking from last years team was a backup to Randle that could run the offense and hit some shots. Gutierrez really came on late in the season as our clutch defender who could lock down the opposing teams best offensive threat but he was terrible with the ball in his hands. Hopefully Smith can continue where he left off in HS when he joins the Bears, then I could see Cal Basketball living up to high expectation placed on them by the media.

BTW: When was the last time both Cal Football & Basketball open there seasons being ranked?
