Shortly before the NCAA revealed the penalties, a reporter from The Birmingham News caught up with Alabama coach Nick Saban and asked how Saban felt about finally putting this episode behind the program. “I’m really happy for the players we have in the program that this won’t affect their future, nor will it affect the players we’re recruiting,” Saban told the paper. “We’re always happy to be moving on, and we’re looking forward to the future.”

Maybe Pete Carroll should keep a copy of that quote to use the day the NCAA wraps the Bush investigation. Neither USC nor any other name-brand program that winds up in the NCAA’s crosshairs should worry too much about suffering in the future. They’re just too valuable to have.

Does USC get treated any differently than other schools? Hmmmm.

Why do the SC faithful disregard the fact that the NCAA is goping to treat them like a Sailor who hasn’t had shore leave in 4 years. Instead of making comments about Cal football, they should get ready buy some astroglide and forget about dinner because the NCAA is going to make up for lost time and give the trojans what they have been begging for.

The facts are a Tedford offense clicking on all cylinders scares sc coach very much. He knows what a Cal offense does when balanced and efficient. That’s what the Bears are going to bring this year, an offense you can’t stop. With no proven QB, and so many unproven players, plus the looming NCAA viloations that are going to be slapped on sc they know they are on the downswing. sc fan’s are worried, and they should be…

if nyan boateng isn’t a starter when the season begins tedford is crazy. I don’t know why but tedford loves keeping his talented players on the sideline. I mean conte over hagan 2 yrs ago, kendricks over dj holt, longshore over riley, john allen over derrick hill 2 yrs ago, etc. Plus, he acts like learning his offense is like breaking a code or something. If a guy can play put him on the field.
