Basketball: Pac-10 at Vegas, Day 2

Here’s how Pac-10 alumni fared Saturday in NBA summer league play at Las Vegas:

– LOS ANGELES LAKERS 88, CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 82. LAL: Mustafa Shakur (Az) 5 points, 4 rebounds, 20 minutes; Aron Baynes (WSU) 4 points, 4 rebounds, 14 minutes.

– DETROIT PISTONS 91, TORONTO RAPTORS 87. TR: DeMar DeRozan (USC) 20 points, 9-20 FGs, 4 rebounds, 35 minutes.

– GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 98, SACRAMENTO KINGS 95, OT.  GSW: Jamal Sampson (Cal) 0 points, 5 rebounds, 4 PF, 10 minutes; Lawrence Hill (Stan) 2 points, 1 rebound, 9 minutes;  SK: Jon Brockman (UW) 2 points, 7 rebounds, 9 minutes; Spencer Hawes (UW) DNP.  (Note: If the purpose of this blog weren’t to provide information about Cal and the Pac-10, I’d have also mentioned here that W’s first-round draft choice Stephen Curry scored 29 points tonight. But I won’t do that.)

– HOUSTON ROCKETS 98, DALLAS MAVERICKS 95.  HR: Chase Budinger (Az) 25 points, 9-10 FGs, 22 1/2 minutes; Maarty Leunen (Ore) 11 points, 5 rebounds, 31 1/2 minutes; Rod Benson (Cal) DNP; Hassan Adams (Az) DNP;  DM: Luke Jackson (Ore) 16 points, 3-11 FGs, 21 minutes; Alfred Aboya (UCLA) 0 points, 0 rebounds, 12 minutes.
