Football: Hinder makes Elite 11

By Jonathan Okanes
Monday, July 13th, 2009 at 12:32 pm in off-season stuff.

Cal commit Austin Hinder has made the final Elite 11 roster, meaning the Bears will bring in their fifth Elite 11 quarterback over the past six years. Nate Longshore, Kevin Riley, Brock Mansion, Allan Bridgford and now Hinder were all Elite 11 quarterbacks.

The Elite 11 is comprised of the top high school quarterback prospects in the country.

Who cares? None of them has or will win the Pac-10. 50 years of no Rose Bowl, no BCS, no Heismans… Frustration and disappointment - again and again.

What about Kyle Reed? I know he’s not on the Bears anymore, but Tedford did bring him in and he was Elite 11.

  3. Jonathan Okanes Says:

Bowl, you are correct that Reed also was an Elite 11 player. I failed to mention him since he transferred out of the program.

  4. BombayBear Says:

And yet, our best QB in years - Rodgers - was a no-name lucky pickup spotted by Tedford when he was checking out another player.

    Rankings in sports suck.

Wow, I’m new around here - is Iamalcindor always such an A-hole? And to the guy writing the blog on which he’s wasting his time?

Bombay, Since you’re new, please ignore Iam, MoreNCs, LessNCs, 9dwarfs, MebaneDT, KyleBollerFan, Amythical or any demeaning post from Amy. Her entire life is dedicated to mocking other fan bases, but she mostly focuses on Cal for whatever sick reason.

She only continues when she attracts responses. She obviously gave up on her latest stunt, when JO was on vacation, because no one else involved themselves in her stupidity of back and forth post. Unfortunately, the CC times tolerates such trolls, but that’s why any IP address, she uses, is banned on the entire Scout network. Who knows why CC Times doesn’t conduct the same type of clean sweep.

Pity the troll, but never feed her. I learned that lesson a long time ago. That’s why I mostly post on the BearInsider site which is and always will be an Amy-free zone. If the CC times doesn’t clean house, shouldn’t we show our disapproval by limiting our responses on here? Censorship is good, when it involves a mental patient.

This is my last post on Amy this year. I predict amythical will respond in an hour.

    Go BEARS!

Iamalcindor, sounds like a Bruin fan. Last time I checked they were still trying to figure out who is going to be the tackling dummy behind the center this year. How many Bruin QBs will go down this year? Any more than one and GAME OVER. How is that Bruin Oline? How fast is the Bruin Tackling dummy, I mean QB.

    To JO

It seems that about 30 days ago the Cal recruiting was on a hot roll, but, since then it has been very quiet.

There seems to be activity with other teams.

    Any observations.

It’s my opinion(and I have no rational reason to think
this) that until the Bears put up some big numbers against quality teams the recruitment of offensive players will be quiet.
