Football: Pac-10 ballot — No. 10

By Jonathan Okanes
Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 11:52 am in off-season stuff.

Starting today, I will count down the ballot I submitted for the preseason media poll, beginning at No. 10:

No. 10: Washington State. This is obviously not much of a surprise. It has been well-documented just how bad the Cougars were last season. But they still were able to knock off Washington in the Apple Cup to avoid a last-place finish. The problem is the Huskies figure to make more strides than the Cougars this season. Washington State has questions all over the field,  and there is no real reason to be convinced they will be answered anytime soon. One possible jolt is the addition of Cal transfer James Montgomery at running back, but he doesn’t have much of a line to block for him or a passing game to provide balance. It should be another long season in the Palouse.

Wazzu is going to shock Burkalee. TIme for Montgomery to avenge Tedford, who basically flat out lied to Montgomery during recruiting.

I have heard from Montgomery’s own mouth that he thought CAL was not a good fit after getting to Berkeley and he basicly went to CAL because his mother wanted him to. Most CAL fan’s think it was because of Best & Vereen who came in after he did.
So what lies are you telling about JT that he “flat out lied” to Montgomery? You don’t know jack about this!

anyway, hope the kid has fun in WSU. I mean, kids transfer out of schools all the time… but for WSU? I can understand emmanuel moody and florida, justin roeper and montana…the kid wants to play, but ……for…WSU?
    really?

Montgomery said from Day 1 that he wanted to go to a rural, small town school, but that he went to Cal because his mother wanted him to stay close to home. He said he was never really comfortable in the urban environment in Berkeley. It wasn’t Tedford or anybody else, he just wanted a small town environment and Wazzou fit the bill. I wish him luck at Wazzou. He never bad-mouthed Tedford or Cal, he just waned something different.

This link is about your OL. http://www.allpac10.com/pac-10-position-breakdown-offensive-line-cal/

Frankly it looks weak. A new center, a walk guard and if your two bookends go down it will bode poorly.

I am not impressed and offensive lines win games.
