Football: Pac-10 media day

By Jonathan Okanes
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 at 1:37 pm in off-season stuff.

Due to cost constraints, I won’t be traveling to L.A. for Pac-10 Media Day on Thursday. The good news is you don’t need me to tell you what happened. The Q and A portion of the program will be streamed live on the Pac-10 website. Fans also can submit questions to coaches and players via Twitter.

Jeff Tedford, Jahvid Best and Syd’Quan Thompson will appear at Bay Area media day next Monday in San Francisco, and I will be there for that event.

JO, you can simply drive to LA.

$50 for gas, $20 for lunch. No need to skip this event. I am sure CC Times can find $70.

  • Pete Carroll

Hmmm… that seems pretty weak for the CC Times. They do realize that to provide well rounded reporting insight into the other teams is actually a good investment of time.

unfortunately, you have to sell a few newspapers to generate revenue.

I wasn’t aware that one should not worry about the return leg when planning a trip.

JO, most of us understand that the newspaper industry is taking a huge hit due to easy access of content in the internet age. This blog is part of that easy to access content and provides more information than a Cal fan could’ve hoped for 10 years ago. Many thanks for taking care of us during the NCAA football off season.

Man, that reflects poorly on the CC Times. A Southwest flight and a couple of days at a Holiday Inn are too much?

  • Daniel

The old “What’s Black & White and Red all over?” line only refers to a bleeding zebra these days.

Sorry to hear that you couldn’t make the conference JO. I’d be happy to help out as a SoCal reporter if it would get me into Media Day.

Whatever happened to “stringers” (free-lance writers in various cities)?. Did they all turn into “bloggers”?
