I still feel good about the Bears' prospects this year, and not just based on my heart. I still think that Riley has gotten a bad rap, that he and Coach Tedford will get their mojo working this year, and that the Bears are going to play great. Recall that when Longshore got injured in the first game in 2005(?) and Ayoob too over at quarterback until near the end of the season, at the beginning of the U$C game, the Bears looked good enough to beat U$C until Ayoob went into one of his downward spirals and pulled down the team and the home crowd. If Riley keeps the turnovers to a minimum and plays well enough to keep the run defense honest, the Bears will be very good, indeed. If Riley plays great, as he is capable of doing in my estimation, the Bears will do great. :-)

I agree $C is down this year, but it will still take a little luck to dethrone them. They play Cal and Oregon on the road, and I think they lose one of those games. If they lose two, then there is a chance that Cal or Oregon could go to the Rose Bowl.

I don't see SC losing any of there other Pac-10 games because they play all of the other teams that could possibly beat them at home (Stanfurd, OSU, UCLA, Az).

It would take a huge upset (maybe as big as the Furd upset a couple of years ago) for ASU or Wash to beat them on the road.

It's between Oregon and SUC, JO. You will be exposed for ranking Oregon #4, little OSU #3, UW #9 and pucla very high.
