Football: Bay Area Media Day — Syd’Quan Thompson

By Jonathan Okanes
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at 12:31 pm in off-season stuff.

A couple of leftover quotes from Cal All-American cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson at Bay Area Media Day:

–On how the defense is shaping up: “We lost three good linebackers but I don’t think we took a step back. Our linebackers hear that a lot. I think that’s motivation for them. It makes them want to come out and work a little harder. I think the defense is going to be pretty solid. We have a veteran D-Line and a veteran secondary. With them surrounding the linebackers, I think we should be all right.”

–On the new JC linebackers: “First and foremost, they’re athletic. They’re’ going out there and competeing with an offense that knows what they are doing. They haven’t been coached yet by our coaches. It’s a lot of learning to be done. But I think they have the potential to come in and have some type of contribution to what our team is trying to do this year.”

Thanks for quotes. We don’t hear from Sid much. Might want to fix the “competeing” typo…

Might want to fix the “Syd” typo, CJ. :)

Syd is a quiet man. He doesn’t like talking much.
He shows you what he can do rather than tell you.

Sydquan Thompson still trying to tackle Tennessee receivers at the Rocky Top. LOL, what a clown

  4. BluenGold Says:

JO- does the CCTimes’ prohibition against messages with personal attacks extend to personal attacks against Cal players? If not, it should.

  5. iamalcindor Says:

Since when “missed tackles” and “complete inability to tackle on the Rocky Top” is considered a personal attack?

Tennessee receivers are still laughing at Syd.

  6. BluenGold Says:

“what a clown” = personal attack.

    enough said.
