And here is a great link that actually has something to do with Cal football, which is a concept a certain frequent poster seems incapable of grasping. Enjoy.

Easy rollon. These are just basic camp injuries. no need to get all worked up about the start of the year. Jahvid will be ready and so will the Bears. Easy bud. You go to every D1 camp in the country right now and the same "injuries" (sore, fatigue, muscle tweaks) at this point the camp are happening. Relax they will be fine.

I can smell the roses

Seriously doods...chill. Sounds like tweaked muscles and minor concussions being held out just to be safe (as it should be). I think the coaching and training staff clearly understands this and that's why they're holding people. Sounds prudent to me.

Go Bears!

In football, a concussion to be held out of a few practices is not serious. Serious injuries that would be of concern would like a torn ACL, sprained ACL, sprained knee, high ankle sprain, crack in fibula (Corp) etc. Of course I wouldn't want a concussion or anyone to have one on the team, but I don't think we should be losing sleep over this.

Rollonubears--

Cal's 2010 recruting class is currently ranked 20th by Scout and is that low because it only contains 11 commits so far--much less than the other schools. Cal's average recruit rating is 3.27 and that's as good or better than 8 of the schools ranked above them.

Davidson, concussions are serious, but Abe is blowing the typical number of injuries out of proportion. The free Rivals article from yesterday took a drastically different stance than Abe, the non-insider, as the author said, and I paraphrase, "the number of injuries are nothing different from past years." If injuries are happening to starters in the ten day period before the Maryland game, when starters have been selected and the game plan is in full swing, then I'll be concerned at certain positions. But, I have to recommend a deep breath to fans who are worried already. This past-time is something we should enjoy. Worrying does nothing in any situation, especially, in our leisure.

i have been following cal football like no one i don't remember this many injuries just one week into camp, not even remotely close. peet carroll can afford to have a incredibly intense type of workout because the back ups and back up back ups or all 4 and 5 stars. that is not the case with cal so we have to practice an intensity level that is conscious of that disparity in talent. What is the point of all this if come game day most of our key players are not even on the field? there is a fine line between having intensity during practice and having adequate amount of talent on the field during an actual game. all of this injury report is really alarming.
