Top, Sanchez was smart to leave early with Bradford, McCoy and Tebow staying. I doubt he would break the first round, if 2 of 3 went last year, but that's water under the bridge. My point is that timing is everything, and there are so many unknown that is better to stick it out and get that Cal degree.

It is only the preseason, but it looks like Aaron has climbed to the top with Big Ben, Tom and the Mannings. It looks like Green Bay is posed for a big turn around this year with an easier schedule due to last year's down performance. But, Aaron needs to throw the big pass like Big Ben did in the Super Bowl last year.

Thanks H8s. Vince was before my time, but I've seen clips of him, a helluva of player...

JKO -- Vince Ferragamo made a pretty good name for himself after transferring from... Cal. That was 30+ years ago, so your point is well taken.

Sanchez need only one year to prove himself, and got pick #5 with 50 mil. So, Brock should stick around his senior year. And, I thought he red shirt the first year. Didn't he?

And, I don't think Riley is leaving after this year either.

Jan, did you see the Green Bay game this pass weekend. Aaron Rodger is brilliant, he really excel in Green Bay. 3 TDs in first 18 minutes he played as the first starter. And, I don't think he missed any throw. His passer rating is way up there.

Go Bears!

Good job, JO! You called it in spring!

Top, there's no way Riley decides to leave early. There are several college QBs who are a head of Riley on development. They likely will go before him, so he must return for his Senior year. If he has a stellar junior year, it only will be tough for Brock, since he'll essentially have one year to potentially led the Bears post-Riley. I doubt we will see an open competition, if Riley excels. I also doubt we see Brock transfer. There are plenty examples of QB transfers getting burned. Take for a perfect example $C's 3rd stringer. He'll be lucky if he is drafted next year. Alex Smith has proven that a spread QB can't play in the NFL. Mustain merely has shown he can't play a pro-style offense in college. While these examples are spread QBs. The saga of Sam Keller shows that "a great QB" should stay with his first choice after the LOI Day. Can anyone recall when a QB excelled after transferring?

If Riley comes out strong this year, Tedford will be the coach of the year again. And, Riley for Heiman next year, if he doesn't buzz out to the NFL. Most likely he won't go early.

That is very funny Rollon....

And, If the Bears can stay healthy after the 5-0, they may go all the way. the problem is depth. Are they deep enough to sustain after injuries? $C on the other hand has never lost in November because they are deep. All their backups are 4 and 5 stars also can be starters.

The bears need to be healthy enough to get by them on October 3. And, we need to help the bears by rock that place out. One more hopeful is "NO RAIN" that day.

>$C = Rose Bowl. I really pray that this will be the year to the Promise Land. And, I hope Riley and Best will take us there.

i can't believe oregon scheduled boise state on the road, on a thursday night. b state should be way overrated this year, so oregon probably escapes with a win. hopefully we'll both be undefeated when we meet up there, but beating them plus their officials is always a tall order that takes a little luck, and cash. somehow, the bears always seem to go 5-0 and then lose the 6th game, followed by a collapse. odds of going 5-0 this year are low, but even if we do, it's a classic ucla letdown game, and they always beat top10 opponents at home. it's gonna take a miracle to get to the rose bowl. if it happens, there is a god, that god is a man, and he also loves the golden bears.

wow, surprise of the century. in any case it is clear that Tedford is really maturing as a head coach in charge of a football program that is above average at the fbs level with occasional ascent to powerhouse status. this is one of those years this Cal program can enter that realm of an elite team with top 10, if not top 5 ranking by seasons end. depending on how we handle the inevitable adversaries, and there will be quite a few, we may finally fulfill this promise and complete the transaction and perhaps stay there for a few years, at least for as long as Tedford is with us. Salute.
