I am doing a blog exchange this week with Maryland beat writer Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times. Are there any burning questions you have about Maryland? Submit them as comments on this post and I will pick five to send to him. He will be doing the same for me to answer about Cal for his readers.

1) How would you characterize the overall team speed of the Terps – especially on Defense?
2) Do you think Chris Turner has the consistency to lead the Terps to a big (9-10 wins) year?
3) How do you explain the Jekel-and-Hyde performances of the Terps from last year (beat Cal, lose to ETSU)? Have those issues been resolved?

1) Will playing at 10 p.m. EDT effect Maryland?
2) Who or what is the “under the radar” factor for Maryland?
3) Do people in Maryland really think those teeny-tiny blue crabs compare to dungeness crab?

How do the Maryland players feel about being 21 point underdogs to a team that they beat last year?
What is the coaching staff doing to prepare such a young team for a big game on the West Coast?
Have a lot of the players been to the Bay Area before?
What are they going to do during the day since the kickoff is so late?

From the Maryland perspective, what are the keys to the game, i.e. what will we have to see early or consistently that will tell us whether Maryland is doing what they need to to win.

“As you can tell, I’m reaching pretty far to find some positive thoughts on Maryland. I think there’s a real chance that they could end up being the ACC’s worst team.”
How is Maryland handling the hype?
