–Here’s my notebook today, focusing on the matchup between Cal’s young offensive line and Maryland’s attacking defensive front.
–Columnist Gary Peterson says Cal’s offensive line will have a lot to do with Jahvid Best’s Heisman chances.
–Maryland might not know who its kicker is until…well…kickoff.
–Maryland has a receiver who may be headed for big things.

Cal’s O-line should be great this year. Consider that last year’s starting left tackle (Teofilo) hasn’t been able to break into the starting lineup this season — a great indicator that Cal is both talented and deep up front.

Too much pressure up front will cause Jahvid Best to pop into the secondary a few times. Then it’s on.
