ToparchiBear: To your point of dual RB formations, you have to love the play in the EW game where they swept Best from the slot for a reverse after a fake hand-off to Vereen! Not to mention, I think defenses will have headaches dealing with the set that has Sofele in motion.

J.O., the last few weeks have been quiet in terms of the healing of Best's toe. Has there been any word on how the healing is coming along and whether the discomfort is still lingering and/or affecting his running?

Thanks and great reporting.

Too bad about the FBs! Hoefully this is all precautionary and they are both available Saturday... If not, its a good thing you don't necessarily need a FB on the field to pitch it outside!!!

Have one of your backup guards in on running plays and go with two tailback or single backs on other plays. I'm sure a good pulling guard starting in at fullback can lay a pretty significant block. It wouldn't be the first time a team went with that formation.

Sad to hear the fullback situation. However, Cal has 4 strong healthy RBs. Maybe time to have two RBs in the same set of play with full of action plan. I have always want to see 2 RBs in a same play to make the defense really confuse whom they should cover.
