Day-by-day, Rivals.com is unveiling its preseason national rankings. The Web site started with everybody’s favorite, the hapless New Jersey Institute of Technology, which is ranked No. 347. Well-earned, too, as NJIT has totaled one victory the past two seasons.
All four Bay Area schools outside the Pac-10 already have been ranked — USF at No. 235, San Jose State at No. 226, Santa Clara at No. 174 and Saint Mary’s at No. 105.
Seven Pac-10 schools also have been revealed:
140. Stanford
119. USC
91. Arizona State
79. Oregon
68. Arizona
47. Oregon State
44. Washington State.
Not sure I’d put WSU so high. Three teams are left — Cal, Washington and UCLA. We’ll keep you posted.
