In what may be a slightly better show than the one I’m appearing on, Cal’s Jahvid Best will be on “Chronicle Live” on Wednesday.
I will be on “Chronicle Live” on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area on Friday at 5 p.m.
New USC coach Kevin O’Neill got a commitment this weekend from Maurice Jones, a point guard from Arthur Hill HS in Saginaw, Mich., according to a report on scout.com. Jones is just 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds, but averaged 28 points and 13 assists as a junior last season.
Jones, the Trojans’ fifth recruit in the class of 2010, picked USC over Baylor, South Fliorida and St. Bonaventure.
A thorough sampling of what was said outside Cal’s locker room after the game Saturday:
Didn’t have much time yesterday to get on here but wanted to catch up on a few things, starting with links:
–Here’s my story on the Oregon game. The focus? Just how good is Cal anyway?
–Columnist Cam Inman isn’t very convinced the Bears can right the ship.
–A notebook off the game, looking at the Bears’ inability to stop tight end Ed Dickson.
–Columnist Gary Peterson says the Bears have to complete some passes to fix the offensive warts that showed up against Oregon.
–Most of you have probably seen it by now, but Cal had a big fall in this week’s Associated Press top 25.
–The folks who project the bowl games at ESPN.com apparently weren’t too impressed with Cal’s performance Saturday.
–ESPN.com’s Ted Miller has Cal at No. 3 in his power rankings, with Oregon sitting on top.
I wasn’t able to attend Cal’s conditioning workout tonight, but Jeff Faraudo did and provided this sampling of Jeff Tedford’s comments:
