Just checked into whether Cal still tried to get the Washington State game televised after it was passed on by the networks that have a contract with the Pac-10. Apparently, Cal couldn’t find a good time to play the game that didn’t fall into the exclusive window held by the networks. Cal isn’t allowed to televise the game during some other times of the day when other Pac-10 games are being televised. The only time Cal could have played the game and still have it be televised would have been at night, and the cost of bringing in lights didn’t make it feasible even with the revenue the television broadcast would have yielded.
