Football: Cal back on the tube

Cal’s Nov. 7 home game against Oregon State will begin at 4 p.m. and appear on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (produced by Fox Sports Net). The Bears weren’t on TV last week against Washington State, the first Cal game to go untelevised since the 2006 season.

Great, Cal is back on the tube in the Bay Area. I live in Southern Cal, and even the best sports bars don’t subscribe to Direct TV’s Comcast SportsNet’s Bay Area channel. The Bears are still paying the price for those horrendous losses and are getting relegated to bottom tier television coverage.
I wonder if there is a chance the Oregon channels will have a different feed that can get picked up in Southern Cal.

steve, try atdhe.net or californiagoldenblogs.com. someone usually has a justin.tv streaming link up and running.

another thing that works great, find a trusted friend in the bay area. buy a sling box, and mail it to him/her. i’ve been watching cal football and hoops, plus giants games, every day, for 2 years. go bears!

I think Yankee Doodle in Santa Monica (3rd St Promenade) carries CSN Bay Area. If I remember correctly, I caught one of the Cal-Stanfurd b-ball games there last season. Call to check before you head over though.

Maybe the SF Saloon on Pico has Bay Area channels?

Steve W – Why not see the game for yourself? This is going to be a good game, and there are plenty of seats still available. I was just looking at craigslist.org for some friends, and there are plenty of options at face value.
Go BEARS!

I’m in SoCal too, and believe me, it’ll be on. On the 7th, check this site:

Thanks for the viewing tips on the game. It’s always fun to watch the game with a bunch of bear backers. There’s a pretty good Cal bar on Wilshire in Santa Monica, but Yankee Doodle’s isn’t a bad bet either. They just opened a Fox Sports Grill in my town, Westlake Village, so it might be on there, too. I was very frustrated when several sports bars in Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills didn’t have the Comcast feed for the Eastern Washington game. Jan K, I may take you up on the offer if Cal takes care of bus against ASU.

I get the Comcast Bay Area station on Direct TV in Texas. Wanna play you gotta pay, but it’s worth it. Cal Sports Report and Chronicle live are on here, too. Makes me feel like I’m back home.
