Basketball: Northwest odds ‘n ends

Seattle Times writer Percy Allen, who has been counting down his Pac-10 predictions, made Washington his choice over Cal to win the conference. At the crux of his decision: “Cal doesn’t play defense.”

Allen also ran excerpts from an online chat with UW senior Quincy Pondexter, who said that Cal’s Jerome Randle and Patrick Christopher and Stanford’s Landry Fields are the league’s best non-UW players.
