Basketball: Anderson continues to shine

You think ex-Cal star Ryan Anderson is happy so far in Orlando?

The second-year forward scored 20 points today as the Magic stayed unbeaten with a 125-116 win at Toronto. He shot 5-for-8 from the 3-point arc as Orlando made 17 3-point baskets.

Anderson, 21, has scored at least 16 points in each of the club’s three games and is averaging 17.3 ppg, shooting 55 percent (11-for-20) from 3-point range. A year ago, as a rookie playing in New Jersey, Anderson averaged 7.4 points and had just two 20-point games.

Give Ben Braun credit. He recruited Anderson and before that Leon Powe.

But once Monty gets his recruits and his system in place and rolling, Cal will be even better.

    Go Bears!

  • Bears!!!

Braun is also responsible for our 4 solid senior starters this year (and it might be five if Kamp or Harrison stayed healthy).

The real difference is that Monty is able to get more out of these players than Braun because he is a flat out better coach.
