Football: Mohamed, not Vereen, takes honor

Cal linebacker Mike Mohamed has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week for defense. Mohamed becomes the first conference player this season to win the defensive award twice.

Cal running back Shane Vereen, despite his 193 yards and three touchdowns, was not named the winner for offense. That honor went to Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for three other scores in the Ducks’ 44-41 double-overtime win over Arizona.

why is there an option to select basketball or football if the basketball posts also appear under the football category?

can you have the techies fix it so that only football topics show up when i select football, just as only basketball topics show up when i select basketball?

My initial response has yet to clear the censors, but I agree that Mohamed deserves the award. He is a true sideline to sideline tackler, and took Gerhart head on numerous times during the game. He is the best all around linebacker Cal has had for some time.
