Football: Best out
By Jonathan Okanes

Running back Jahvid Best will not play in the Poinsettia Bowl, Cal coach Jeff Tedford announced after practice tonight. Tedford said Best is progressing fine but the early nature of the bowl game made it too close a call to have him play. Had the Bears played in a bowl game after Christmas, there might have been a better chance of him coming back.
I’ll have much more later tonight.

Too bad. This is a very nice young man who wasted his college career.
December 16th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
Wasted?? Explain?
December 16th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Best is out, WTF?
December 16th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
So it’s likely that the last image Cal fans will have of Best is out cold in the endzone at Memorial Stadium? WOW!!!
Well, good luck in the NFL Jahvid, just don’t get drafted by the sad Raiders.

Never made All American, never was invited to the Heisman ceremony, leaves with an emerald Bowl ring and some cans of nuts, a toy helicopter from the Armed Forces Bowl game and some red Christmas flowers. His body got hammered because he never had the supporting cast.

Way to show up with your classless act again. Are you talking about every single player of the outstanding USC football program?
Lets see if they can even get a bowl win this year.
December 16th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Bummer. Maybe Jahvid comes back.
If not I’m sure he’ll do well in the NFL. DeSean did just fine and Jahvid is faster.
I think the key is how Best is used in the NFL. He’ll likely be used like Reggie Bush (slot/WR/RB) which is how he should have been used at Cal.
If Jahvid is gone. Thank you for a great couple of years.

Great guy by all accounts. Amazing athlete. Best wishes to him whatever he does. Wish he would finish his degree, but hey, I cling to the notion of scholar-athlete. Will always treasure his amazing highlight reel runs. May not see his speed around the Pac 10 for many more years.
What a lucky young man to have been able to play football at the finest university in the land!

I’m far more relieved that he isn’t playing. I want him to make a full recovery and coming back from a concussion even at 99% we’re learning is unacceptable. And saying jahvid wasted his career would be like saying the same about stafon Johnson. It’s unfortunate what happened, but that’s the risks of the game.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Stafon Johnson? Is that you Moron? Who do you think will win the Rose Bowl?

And saying jahvid wasted his career would be like saying the same about stafon Johnson. >>>>>> Stafon J. walks away from USC with a runner up NC ring (2006), two Rose Bowlrings (2007, 2008). How is that a waste? When he came to USC he knew he would have to share the rock. Shows you what a great teammate he is.

A runner up ring? A ring for losing to Texas? Please. They don’t give rings for runnerup, they dont give rings to losing teams, you dont get rings unless you win something. He might have a ring for winning the Pac 10, but for losing the NC game. IALMAO at the cluelessness.
On the other hand, perhaos they do give “runner up” rings at SC (South Central). That would be about right.
December 17th, 2009 at 10:32 am
PS- I don’t thinbk they give rings for losing the Emerald Bowl. Sorry. Don’t worry, they won’t take back the can of nuts though.

And yet, here she is. Some trolls just can’t help themselves. Kind of makes all of us realize (once again) that there is zero credibility.

BTW get your shots in now because I have decided not to return to this blog for awhile once our season is over. However I will check in just to keep you honest. I wouldn’t feel the necessity to visit here as often as I do if it wasn’t for the lies and the extreme comments made about my team, its players, coaches and history.

10 hours later, the troll breaks her vow and is right back. 10 whole hours. NO CREDIBILTY. EVER. South Central fan since 1989? Along with the Miami Hurricane? Who else? The Lakers? The Yankees? The Steelers? The Patriots? Duke and North Carolina Basketball? Big surprise.

Just goes to show what frauds trolls really are.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
Dan – can you read? Here is what I wrote (taking the liberties to cap what you missed). “BTW get your shots in now because I have decided not to return to this blog for awhile ONCE OUR SEASON IS OVER.”
BlueNGold – I would recommend you go back to the SF Chronicle and post. Oh I forgot. You have been banned twice. I got the fat man banned twice. LOL.

I wish Jahvid the best in the NFL. He shouldn’t come back. Tedford does not know how to use offensive weapons. Outside of Aaron Rodgers, what has JT (offensive guru) done? Sure we have our 1,000 yd. rushers, but why can’t JT design game plans to help us win big games?
Oh that’s right. The players don’t execute.
Jahvid, follow DeSean’s lead. Don’t risk another injury. You’ve been great for us CAL fans, but until we get a REAL coach, you’ll end up in some mid tier bowl again next year. It’s not worth it.

Moron, is it true D. Williams is not coming back because of Barkley and that S. Johnson didn’t want to try to get a 6th year because of him as well?
What a toxic environment!!!! Is it true OC Bates is only allowed to talk to him on certain days and that they meet at Barkley’s house only?

Link(s)???? And then I will ask my source on the team.

I thought South Central’s season WAS over. About 45,000 “fans” who didn’t bother to show up for the Arizona game apparently must have thought the season was over. SC home football – 92,000 strong – unless they lose a couple of games- then more like 45,000 partially interested and leaving early. Love it!

It must really suck to be so bitter and miserable during the holiday season.
December 18th, 2009 at 11:38 am
$c team is not enjoying the holiday season either, with all of the infighting within the team and coaches over Barkley. I wonder how many coaches bolt after the loss in the bowl game?

Show links otherwise this is just more of the same old lies permeating this board. And that is why I stick around. I definitely can find better company but someone has to keep an eye out.

Several sources recently were commenting on how Barkley froze Williams out of games because Williams was not following what Barley said.
Explains why Williams’ catches were down.

Hey Moron, did you read the article in the LA Times about McKnight’s range rover? That was a great read!! Love how he has been seen driving it, but denies that he ever has and says people have “seen wrong.” Typical $c response. He also doesn’t know who paid for his girlfriend and child to fly to UW to see that game. Seems very reasonable!!!
What a terrific program! How are you going to spin this?
December 19th, 2009 at 9:03 am
How tough could it be to spot J. McKnight driving a nearly new Land Rover SUV? Could it have been the bling that gave him away?
December 19th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Gosh, Moron is quiet now. How curious. McKnight will go pro and just deny everything.
He was leaving anyway. My sources say he didn’t get along with Barkley anyway.
