i think the reason the pac10 has had so much trouble reloading as of late is because of all the head coach turnover. look at teams like indiana, michigan, usc, arizona, etc. it makes a big difference to have coaching consistency. it means the world in recruiting.

Now I can't find the link, but somewhere someone was pointing out all the players who are now in the NBA but still could be playing in the Pac10 this season had they not left early for the money. This was an excuse used to comfort those who are sad about the Pac being down this year, compared to other conferences.
I wanted to say - let's now do a study of the ACC, the Big East, the Big 12, and the Big 10 and see how many players THEY all have in the NBA that could still be playing in their leagues.
I suspect we'd find similar numbers.

My point is that you've got to reload. Kevin Durant could still be at Texas, yet Texas is kicking butt. UNC loses early entry first rounders annually, yet that doesn't stop them. And if your retort is that Cal can never be like one of those schools, I'll beg to differ.
