Here’s my Cal notebook from this morning’s editions along with links to stories on Thursday night’s Pac-10 basketball openers:
– It wasn’t special, but Washington did what was expected in its 76-70 win over Oregon State.
– Oregon State gave it a shot, but couldn’t finish the job in Seattle.
– Too much celebrating costs Washington State in OT against Oregon.
– Ducks hope road victory is the start of something.
– UCLA is in a zone — literally — in its win over Arizona State.
– Arizona State’s comeback bid blocked at the buzzer.
– USC’s offense makes its coach sick, but defense rules against Arizona.
