No. 2 Kentucky (17-0) rode 44 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists from freshmen guards Eric Bledsoe (25-7-5) and John Wall (19-4-6) to beat host Florida 89-77 . . .  Here’s one that wiill help Cal’s strength-of-schedule rating: Evan Turner, in his third game back after suffering a fracture in his back, had a career-high 32 points, leading Ohio State (12-5) to a 70-66 win at No. 6 Purdue (14-2). Robbie Hummel had 35 points and 10 rebounds for the Boilermakers, who dropped their second straight . . . Denis Clemente scored at 24 points and No. 13 Kansas State (14-2) posted an 88-65 win over Texas A&M . . . Scott Wood scored 31 points and North Carolina State claimed an 88-81 win over No. 25 Florida State (13-4). 

LOCAL HEROES

Cory Higgins (Danville-Monte Vista HS) had 18 points and Colorado claimed an 78-71 upset of No. 22 Baylor ( 13-2).
