Football: Kenbrell Thompkins

By Jonathan Okanes
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 at 11:58 am in Football, off-season stuff.

El Camino College wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins is still considering Cal. Thompkins took a recruiting trip to Oregon last weekend and has yet to make a decision. He also still hasn’t been granted his release from Tennessee, which could complicate things past Signing Day. Thompkins has several major offers, and El Camino coach John Featherstone said Nebraska and Oklahoma have entered the mix recently.

Kenbrell – Come check out Cal, you won’t be disappointed!

    Great education
    Soon to be upgraded facilities
Great location (esp compared to Eugene, Okla. and Neb.)
    Great coach
    Opportunity to play early on
Consistent NFL drafts picks every year
Develop with young QBs in the program
    Your mom will be proud!

  2. Juancho Says:

Great news. Hopefully this guy decides to choose Cal. Anyone have an idea how long Cal has been involved in recruiting this guy?

  3. Jan K Oski Says:

OT- but, big news! The combo brothers Keenen Allen and Zach Maynard are visiting this weekend. Martin will likely be there to sway them…

    Go BEARS!

  4. Jan K Oski Says:

Another OT – Rumor Mill is brewing that Gabe King could be on campus, too. Smells like another late push.

    Go BEARS!

  5. MoreNCsarecoming Says:

Rumor is you just signed two more no name, no star wide receivers. that’s what I call going to the bottom of the barrel. The way you guys are going I might have to changed my projection for next year. 7th in the conference sounds too high.

  6. TopArchibear Says:

NoMoreNC…that is Bull Sh** He is 3* from Rival.
Well, don’t cry if $C is barred from any post season for a few years.

  7. Calduke Says:

Coleman Edmond is probably the ‘referenced’ WR. 3-star.
He led SoCal JCs in all purpose yards.

  8. uh oh. Says:

In a prior post, I said it’s good to go away for college. Oklahoma and Nebraska do not qualify as “away”. They qualify as “hicksville”. Come north, Kembrell, but not too far north. Too much cloud cover can be culture shock for a So-Cal boy.

  9. bearupthere Says:

rumor has it Amy’s ‘inside source’ at USC was not retained by Boy Blunder. No more ‘inside scoops’ on potential recruits choosing the Trojans over the Bears. What will we ever do ?

  10. MEXgldnbear Says:

Dude, Amy does not really have any inside sources.

Here isa great report from the Senior Bowl practices. If you watch the video clip you will see your team on it multiple times.

  12. CruzinBears Says:

Is that the clip that has a NFL scout saying Taylor Mays can’t plant and his footwork reminds him of Fred Flintstone or the clip that has Syd’Quan tearing it up in zone coverage and run support?

  13. MoreNCsarecoming Says:

I find it amazing how much hate there is on this board. Taylor is a Pac 10 guy. don’t you want him to do well? Here let me answer that for you. No – because we beat 7 out of the last 8 years. Stay classy Bear fans.

  14. Cal93 Says:

You do the same, since you are good at it.

  15. CruzinBears Says:

No one here hates Taylor Mays, only all the players he cheap-shotted do, we are just all happy to see NFL scouts recognize that Syd’Quan is a much better prospect than Taylor Mays… You may go back to trolling now…

  16. Cal Ferrari Martin Says:

No, I hope Taylor is a flop.

  17. BlueNGold Says:

Its not just ironic that moron the troll would try to call out Bear fans for not being classy- its absolute hypocrisy. Taylor Mays will be the beneficiary of the law of karma- as you sow, so shall you reap.
