Keenan Allen and his bro are visiting Cal this weekend. If they traveled this far, they have to be interested. Lets hope they dig Cal and Berkeley.

Side note: This may sound like a cliche or odd but Cal really should be going after African American kids in the South more. The AAs transplants to CA I know that have stayed usually LOVE NorCal and CA because of the openness and less historical baggage.

The WR recruiting is down a couple of levels from what it was 2 months ago. The current guys are OK and I can deal with that.

The Austin Hinder downgrade and disappointment is a bit frustrating-however, there are 6 QBs on the roster.
I can deal with that.
BUT!!!

Please get an Offensive line and the ball will get to the receivers and the RBs will get the yardage to control the game.

It won't matter how many studs are on defense if they have to spend 75% of the game on the field.

Juancho-

Thanks for link. Here is the net for Cal targets (Note I didn't say "our" ...lol- but I do frequently)

Leaning Toward Cal -- Probably Cal

DE Gabe King: King was down to Oregon and Cal, but apparently it's all Cal now -- as it was earlier in the process.

Undecided But Cal Still In the Mix -- Maybe Cal

DB Keenan Allen: He must decide whether to stick with Alabama or join his brother, Zach Maynard, at Clemson -- or possibly Cal. A package deal to Clemson is gaining momentum, and we'll see if Allen and Maynard decide to take the long trip to Cal. Right now it appears family has the edge over his current commitment, and the trip to Cal is this weekend.

Were Considering Cal At Some Point/Level, But Now ... -- Probably Not

DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa: Owa is supposed to make his decision by the weekend, but likely won't announce until Signing Day. Oregon State has replaced Oregon in his top three to go with UCLA and Nebraska. Nebraska is his personal favorite according to sources, but will he stay closer to home and play for the Beavers? UCLA was once the leader but has faded. Nebraska seems to be the pick right now.

WR Markeith Ambles: USC has emerged as the team to beat here. A lot depends on where Ambles decides to visit this weekend, and if he decides to delay things beyond Signing Day. LSU could be a threat if he visits there this weekend. North Carolina and Tennessee are still in the mix, but his silence since his USC visit speaks volumes. He looks like a Trojan.

DE J.R. Ferguson: Even Ferguson doesn't have a clue where he's headed. The hunch here is that he ends up playing in Florida at either Florida State or Miami. He had a great visit to FSU last weekend, and Miami gets the last shot this weekend. LSU can't be counted out, either, while Cal and Notre Dame trail.

DT Ricky Heimuli: Washington gets the last shot at Heimuli, but many feel this will come down to UCLA and Utah in the end. Utah has always been high on his list, so don't be shocked if the Utes pull an upset here.

Here's hoping for the best- perhaps there will be signing day rabbit pulled out the hat- that's happened a couple times.

Moron, have you even watched $c games? SUV McKnight was a Petey favorite and couldn't run and hold onto the ball at the same time. He still got the carries, even though Bradford and Johnson(when healthy) were far, far better runners!!!

Because he didn't want to play someone who got beaten by UW in his only start.

Oh wait. You guys did even though you lost 42-3 to the same team. Your QB was back starting the next game. We don't reward mediocrity at USC. Why do you think we stockpile runningbacks and put a guy like Alan Bradford and CJ Gables on the bench for 3 years? If you prove yourself you play. We don't care about those stupid ratings even though we get all the best players in the land. Look at our NG - Christian "Cal did me dirty" Tupou. He has started for two years and was only a 3* recruit. PC brought him on to push everyone else. That's called motivation which your coach appears to have a heard time doing.

Moron, why would Petey play someone who was injured, not effective, and unpopular with his team over someone more deserving?

Did Petey have an "agreement" with Matty that he would play for sure if he committed to $c? Another questionable recruiting story!!

Do you know when Garret will get fired?

Are you kidding me. Coleman even though is on track and play only one year of football, but, went on record book. If he continue to develop at Cal, he will be great. Cal need some one like him to shed the DB, which is what Cal lack at the moment.

Go Bears!

Hopefully a somewhat stronger and somewhat faster GMac type. I think it's more of an issue of attitude than anything else with these WR recruits. In spite of their size and billing the current group seems a bit timid (the departed Boateng's blocking aside). Hope this guy is a badass. We need it...Would love a Coleman, Lagemann, Clay rotation to work out. Would be a good combination of size and speed.
