Some of you may have realized this already, but there is one former Cal player playing in today’s Super Bowl — New Orleans outside linebacker Scott Fujita.

  1. Josh Says:

Thanks but how about some info on his Cal career, his many years in the pros, the kind of person he is, etc.?

  2. Ho Says:

Josh – next time how about asking JO more nicely. Ur entry projects a foul sense of entitlement

  3. Juancho Says:

Scott Fujita must feel great right now. I believe he walked on to the football team at Cal, then was given a scholarship in his second year.

  4. cal85 Says:

I don’t have the links to his official bio, but he’s a great story. I believe that he was adopted by Japanese American parents, both of whom were interned during WWII. From what I understand, he’s been a very strong member of the community in both KC & New Orleans.

  5. Josh Says:

Pretty please with a cherry on top?

    Geez. Google? Wiki?

Reggie Bush = Heisman + National Championship + Super Bowl + fine Christian young man

  8. covinared Says:

honors his parents by giving them a free house while an amatuer athlete.

  9. rollonubears Says:

yes, bush has pretty much done it all, but something tells me he’s have just a little trouble with that whole “leave everything and follow me” thing. bless his soul.

  10. uh oh. Says:

Oh, so now you are going to bring religion into this?
And yet, this is a CAL BEARS sports report. Hhmmm. You are warped if you have to mention 5 measly rushes for 25 yards, 4 catches for 38 yards on this blog. Don’t you know that you only annoy people with your every post, and that everyone wants you to go away? What is your role in life? To be a constant irritant, like a mosquito. I’m sure there is room for you on plenty of other blogs. Just take your NC’s, your Heismans, your Super Bowl and everything else and leave us alone, please.

Wehofx, you put me to shame – especially the link to the pdf article (at the bottom of your page) written before his season senior.

  11. Josh Says:

Just to be clear, I appreciate all that JO does and I’m glad he’s here to do it. I was just trying to suggest that if you are going to write a post about Cal alum Scott Fujita being in the Super Bowl (which has been known for 2 weeks) it would make a better post if you included some color or interesting information. Sorry, JO, if it seemed like I had a “foul sense of entitlement” (what a phrase!?!), and thanks again.

I had to laugh at the way they wrote this sentence.

“Nine years ago, I wrote this article for Cal-Berekley comparing Fujita’s life to a Disney movie; Fujita himself is an acknowledged “big Disney guy.”

    Berekley….HAHAHAHA.

  13. John Says:

    Reggie Bush = deadbeat

  14. rollonubears Says:

wow. that’s pretty low. bush is weak.

  15. uh oh. Says:

Not as weak as his #1 fan.
Quiz of the day: What happens to mosquitoes when they get caught hanging out on a wall with white paint, in a room with no furniture, with the light on, and the doors and windows shut?

  16. BlueNGold Says:

Wow- if that story is true (and, coming from a San Diego TV station, there is no reason to believe it is not), Bush has committed a fraud and should be sanctioned by the NFL for doing so.

  17. CruzinBears Says:

BlueNGold – Although I agree, you just used “sanctions” and “Bush” in the same sentence… Sticking to current trends we might see those get handed down… In 2017…

  18. MoreNCsarecoming Says:

My pastor has been preaching about envy and bitterness. He must read these boards on a daily basis for personal illustrations.

  19. Josh Says:

    #18 Bitterness? Pot. Kettle. Black.

  20. rollonubears Says:

i think since the nfl already forces players to pretend they care by making kindergarten bookreading appearances through the united way, they will let them off the hook on this one.

  21. rollonubears Says:

by the way, did anyone happen to catch tedford’s q and a. i was a little disappointed. he only answered a few really basic questions. nothing new. was that really what the fan base wanted to hear out of the over 300 questions sent in? consistent with his request that fans help by not being so negative on the blogs, i’m still planning to give up negativity for lent, but i was still a little bummed.

  22. BlueNGold Says:

Sounds like all the wet weather has driven that rodent into the attic again.

  23. MoreNCsarecoming Says:

Pastor Rick has been speaking about honesty. I am glad that our former players are being so.

  24. TakeOffThatRedShirt Says:

You know what pastor rick hasn’t been speaking about? What a miserable person you are.

If you trust pastor rick, print a copy of the posts you’ve written for the past week on all the sports websites you post on.

Ask him if it’s healthy behavior. Ask him if that’s the best thing you can do with your time. Ask him if it’s the way of Jesus.

I’ve seen your trash on many sites. All I see is a sad and angry person that knows nothing about sports and runs away anytime they’re proven wrong. And you’re wrong a lot, so that’s a lot of running away.

  25. Josh Says:

    #24. BURN!! Well put.

  26. BlueNGold Says:

I am sure that pastor rick can suggest some local mental health resources that can help a miserable person to address their psychotic and obsessive hatred of a university to which it could not qualify for admission, and, in response to which, it has made a so-called life of trash talk, cheap shots, distortions and grandstanding for a school with no notable achievements other than it’s ethically challenged football team.
