Basketball: Arizona, ASU stay one game back

AROUND THE PAC-10
– Stanford 60, Washington State 58: Sophomore guard Jeremy Green, coming off a 1-for-10 shooting effort at USC, scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half and made the game-winning basket with 4.6 seconds left as the Cardinal (11-13, 5-7) rallied from 18 points down, improved to 10-2 at home and climbed out of last place. Stanford trailed 44-26 with barely 10 minutes left. WSU (15-9, 5-7) lost for the fourth time in five games, despite 19 points from Klay Thompson.
– Arizona 70, Oregon 57: The Wildcats (13-11, 7-5) remained just one game out of first place, thanks to 20 points from freshman Derrick Williams. The Ducks (12-11, 4-7) lost for the seventh time in nine games.
– Arizona State 56, Oregon State 46: The Sun Devils (17-8, 7-5) also stayed just one game behind Cal, led by 16 points from senior guard Derek Glasser. The Beavers (10-13, 4-7) shot just 24.6 percent for the game.
– Pac-10 standings: Cal 8-4, Arizona 7-5, Arizona State 7-5, UCLA 6-5, USC 6-5, Washington 6-6, Stanford 5-7, Washington State 5-7, Oregon 4-7, Oregon State 4-7.
LOCAL HEROES
Omar Samhan (Danville-San Ramon Valley HS) had 21 points and 11 reboumds, but Gonzaga ran away from Saint Mary’s 80-61 . . . Dior Lowhorn (Berkeley HS) scored 18 points as USF blasted Pepperdine 77-47 . . . Shawn Lewis (Oakland-Bishop O’Dowd HS) scored 17 points in Cal Poly’s 78-72 loss to Long Beach State . . . Wendell McKines (Richmond HS) had 13 points and six rebounds but New Mexico State lost 83-64 at Fresno State.

Why is the site not working? It has been broken and stuck on last Thursday since last Thursday. You have to click on the RSS feeds to get newer stuff.
