AROUND THE PAC-10

Thursday’s schedule . . .

Cal at Oregon State, 7:30 p.m., CSNBA: The Bears (17-8, 9-4) are 3-3 on the road in the Pac-10, 4-5 on the road overall. OSU (11-13, 5-7) has been good enough at home to beat Arizona and USC, but also lost at Gill Coliseum to Sac State and Seattle. The latter by 55 points.

Stanford at Oregon, 7 p.m.: If the Cardinal (11-4, 5-8) is going to win a game on the road this season — it’s 0-10 — time is running short. The Ducks (12-12, 4-7) beat USC and UCLA in their two most recent games at Mac Court, but have lost five times on their own floor.

USC at Washington, 7:30 p.m.: The Trojans (15-9, 7-5) are alone in third place and they crushed UW 87-61 at the Galen Center, but they’re just 1-6 on their opponents’ floor. Won’t be easy at Washington (17-8, 7-6), which is 16-1 at home. Usually, it’s not close.

UCLA at Washington State, 5:30 p.m.: The Bruins (11-13, 6-6) have lost two in a row and are in danger of not even getting the .500 record they need for the NIT. WSU (15-10, 5-8) held double-digit leads at Stanford and Cal last weekend, and lost both games.

– Pac-10 standings: Cal 9-4, Arizona State 8-5, USC 7-5, Washington 7-6, Arizona 7-6, UCLA 6-6, Oregon State 5-7, Washington State 5-8, Stanford 5-8, Oregon 4-8.

LOCAL HEROES

Cory Higgins (Danville-Monte Vista HS) scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half, helping Colorado to a 77-67 win over Oklahoma . . . Kyle Roemer (Concord-De La Salle HS) scored 12 points in Colgate’s 91-81 loss to Lehigh.
