  1. Attendance can be misleading. Of course the larger stadiums will have larger attendance. Michigan, Ohio St, Tennessee, will always be at the top, even if they only fill 60-75% of their stadium. WSU will never be at the top even if they sell out 20 years in a row. They should show by % of stadium filled.

  3. On the other hand, if the NCAA is going to go to the trouble of compiling those stats and publishing the results, it would not be difficult to have included with them the stadium capacities for each team.

  4. the compiling and publishing is to make the ncaa appear popular. not to stroke the egos of individual teams.

    Measuring capacity filled would be less misleading then overall attendance. If WSU sold out they would have the same capacity filled than Ohio State. So they wouldn’t be punished for not having the overall numbers. But realistically, this attendance report is not that meaningful anyway.
