Guy will do whatever it takes to win. That's what I take from his comments. He'll play a 1-6-4 if that's what gets the job done. We are going to have different looks, will adjust in game and will not be defined by a distinction like the 3-4. This defense will be multiple. Don't care what the D is called or looks like as long as it dominates!

Nice post. I'm pleasantly surprised with his attitude. Especially when he says he won't be pigeon holed to sticking with the 3-4 defense. I think a lot of us have criticized Gregory for what we perceived as his stubbornness in sticking with bend but don't break gameplans.

I like almost all of his responses. Especially the Bush'esque "i shoot from the gut" response at the end. The only response I feel isn't great is where he says "coaching is coaching" when asked about the transition to college. But then again maybe the program needs someone like this to balance out Tedford. This guy seems to be all business and all football - with academics and the program a clear second. Maybe that will help make Tedford's job easier. I know I've been one to say that the program lacked fire last year, and maybe this kind sir is the one to do it.

We'll see. Too bad he's not related to Teddy Pendergast though.

i just hope we're not trying to slap the ball loose, instead of making tackles, which is something the bears had a problem with, from gilbertson through holmoe. turnovers should be a by-product of tough D, not a goal of the D, per-se. Something seems odd about this guy. Maybe I'm just not used to him, but I get a weird feeling about him. Hopefully, the results speak more than anything else. We need TOUGHNESS! Go Bears.
