Jahvid Best has run the 40 in 4.35 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine today, the fastest time recorded by all running backs.

That’s a great time, I believe the second fastest time in the combine. By the way, Joe “Range Rover” McKnight ran a 4.47. Maybe if they had a car at the end of the 40 he could have run faster.

Indeed…4.35 is FAST but the big, big thing about Jahvid is it’s not just a burst of speed but consistent from the start to finish. No one has that kind of speed.

Congratulations to Jahvid for a very fast time. Cal Alumni will miss him, but root for him on Sundays.
Not as a slight to Jahvid, who is a class act, but Cal fans finally learn his 40-yard dash time of 4.35 is .04 seconds slower than DeSean Jackson’s 40-yard dash time of 4.31 seconds last year.
The very best to both of them from all Cal fans and the home of the Pac-10 Basketball Champions!

.04 seconds is an eternity – lol.
Jackson has been great and Best should do fine.
I’m kind of disappointed in Marshawn Lynch however. Most of what I read about him is the off-the-field stuff.

I think no one here is surprised by his numbers.
All the Best, Jahvid.

he may actually land on a team with an offensive line, too. finally, a chance to see what he really can do. and vareen and our reserve backs should benefit from a much-improved line next year, as well. excitement all around.

As a Raiders fan I’d like to remind everyone that Al Davis will base his first round draft pick on 40 times. I.e., don’t be surprised if Best goest to them at 7 or wherever their first pick is. They did it with Heyward Bey last year, and I’m not going to be surprised if Best who admitted he grew up a Raiders fan is picked by Mr. D.
As a Raider fan it’d be bitter sweet for me, since I’d love to see Jahvid on my NFL team, but it would probably be horrible for him.

Didn’t DS also run a 4.35 at the combine? Let’s see what JB does in two years in the 40.

If Al Davis makes his first pick based on 40 times, he will draft Taylor Mays.

Please ignore my obscene comment about Taylor Mays.
A website showed the wrong 40 time for Taylor Mays.
I deserve a waterboard reception
