Basketball: As expected, Oregon fires Kent

Oregon athletic director Mike Bellotti announced this afternoon what everyone has anticipated for weeks: Ernie Kent will not be back as basketball coach.
Here’s an early story from the Oregonian as well as an Associated Press story posted on ESPN.com.
Now comes the search. Let me know who you’d like see hired to direct the Ducks.

So Lorenzo Romar and Ben Howland are the “old guard” of Pac-10 basketball couches now. But I suppose you can count Cal has having the most years of Pac-10 head couch experience, with Mike Montgomery (plus Jay John on the staff too).
Maybe Randy Bennett…? Not high-profile enough?

The easiest transition would be to hire al green since they look identical.
