AROUND THE PAC-10
– Boston U. 96, Oregon State 78: The Beavers (14-18), defending champs in the College Basketball Invitational, were bounced in the first round this time after falling behind 46-27 at halftime. Only piece of good news for OSU: Freshman guard Jared Cunningham (San Leandro HS) scored 21 points. In his past four games, Cunningham averaged 15.2 ppg and shot a combined 20-for-29.
LOCAL HEROES
Big Sky Player of the Year Damian Lillard (Oakland HS) scored 26 points but Weber State fells 76-62 to Cincinnati in the opening round of the NIT. Lillard finished his sophomore season with 617 points and a 19.9 ppg average.
