— At Washington State, freshman guard Xavier Thames, a native of Sacramento who averaged 4.6 ppg and 1.2 rpg in 17.6 minutes per game, has announced he will transfer. Thames played in all 31 WSU games and started four of them. Freshman guard Anthony Brown of Spokane, Wash., told the Spokane Spokesman-Review he also will transfer after playing just five minutes this season. The Spokesman-Review also noted that the Web site Cougfan.com reported the father of Michael Harthun said the sophomore guard from Medford, Ore., will transfer.
— At Arizona, sophomore forward D.J. Shumpert was granted his release and will transfer. Shumpert, a 6-7 native of Tucson, saw action in just 10 games this season, averaging 0.2 ppg and 2.1 minutes.
